For Ordinary School Leavers and Mature Entry Candidates
Candidates seeking admission into the University should complete the online application form and submit all required documents including O'Level results, birth certificate, and passport photographs.
All applications must be submitted online through the University portal. Hard copies of documents should be submitted to the Admissions Office.
Applicants are required to take the University Entrance Examination and attend an interview. The University Entrance Examination tests basic knowledge in English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge drawn from the Ordinary Level curriculum.
One (1) Year by Coursework and Research/Project (Weekend classes)
Applicants must possess a relevant Honors Degree (Second Class Division II or better) issued by Cavendish University Uganda or any other recognized University or Institution of higher learning.
Candidates who graduated with a Third Class Degree may be considered for admission provided they have at least two years of relevant work experience.
Two (2) Years by Coursework and Research/Project (Weekend classes)
Applicants must possess a relevant Pass Degree from Cavendish University Uganda or any other recognized University or Institution of higher learning with at least two (2) years of relevant work experience OR
A relevant Higher National Diploma from a recognized Institution with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience OR A relevant Ordinary Diploma from a recognized Institution with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Candidates with a non-cognate Degree/Diploma should have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
Candidates with international credentials should submit proper verification letters from relevant bodies such as the respective national councils or boards.
The Criteria for Admission into the Academic Master’s Programme will be as follows:
Candidates with Master’s degree in Governance Studies or Political Science, Public Administration, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations and Local Government Studies of the Olabisi Onabanjo University with a minimum of a CGPA of 3.50 or a minimum of 60% average are eligible to be considered for admission into the PhD. programme directly.
Candidates with Master’s degree in Governance Studies or Political Science, Public Administration, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations and Local Government Studies of the Olabisi Onabanjo University with a minimum of a CGPA of 3.00 – 3.49 or 50%-59% average shall be admitted provisionally to the M.Phil/Ph.D Programme pending the conversion of the student after two or more semesters into the programme. This means that such candidates must offer and pass prescribed courses with a CGPA of 3.50 to proceed to PhD.
Graduates of other approved Universities with Master’s degree in Governance Studies or Political Science, Public Administration, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations and Local Government Studies with a CGPA of 3.00 and above shall be admitted provisionally to the M.Phil/Ph.D Programme pending the conversion of the student after two or more semesters into the programme. This means that such candidates must offer and pass prescribed courses with a CGPA of 3.50 to proceed to PhD.
